Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Managing with the use of KPIs includes setting targets (the desired level of performance) and tracking progress against that target. Managing with KPIs often means working to improve leading indicators that will later drive lagging benefits. Leading indicators are precursors of future success; lagging indicators show how successful the organization was at achieving results in the past.
KPI Training and Certification Programs
The Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Professional Certifications are offered by the Balanced Scorecard Institute (BSI) in collaboration withd The George Washington University Center for Excellence in Public Leadership (GW CEPL), part of the College of Professional Studies. These courses are led by BSI’s highly experienced facilitating consultants, who bring expertise from a wide range of organizational settings.
Participants can choose to receive certifications solely from BSI or opt for a joint certification from both BSI and GW CEPL. The optional GW CEPL certification provides additional recognition from a prestigious academic institution while adhering to BSI’s rigorous standards.
BSI has been a leader in this field for over two decades, certifying professionals since 2006 and training practitioners in KPI development, balanced scorecard implementation, and strategic management. Their extensive experience includes training more than 6,000 participants across 80 countries, demonstrating their global reach and expertise in performance measurement and strategic planning.
KPI Consultation
Our consulting services are tailored to each client’s unique needs to help you:
- Develop meaningful KPIs
- Evaluate and improve existing KPIs
- Ensure objectives and KPIs are aligned with strategy or operational goals
- Design reports for data-driven decision making
KPI consulting services are designed to provide you with the confidence that your KPI, Dashboard, Balanced Scorecard, or Strategy Execution implementation will be a success. Our facilitation approach builds off the measurement elements of the Nine Steps to Success™ framework, which is a disciplined, practical, and tested approach to developing a performance management system. We adapt the framework to reflect the client’s unique needs and schedule, but training is always an integral part of the framework, as is change management, and problem solving. Emphasis is placed on “teaching clients to fish, not handing them a fish”, so the scorecard system can be sustained after our consultants leave. The measurements are developed by your team during a series of facilitated workshops that are designed to be high energy and focused on specific deliverables.
