The same content as the Balanced Scorecard Boot Camp! Beginning with the basic Nine Step process covered in the Part 1 course and then continuing into the real-life nuances and complications addressed in the Part 2 course, this course covers the entire range of balanced scorecard topics over the course of 10 online sessions. Fully consistent with basic balanced scorecard concepts & terminology developed by Kaplan & Norton, the course covers scorecard development in business, government, and non-profit organizations. Participants get hands-on practice using a simple, step-by-step process for developing a scorecard system on their own. This course combines the material in the entire Balanced Scorecard Professional program a single live online course and meets the course requirements for Balanced Scorecard Professional Certification (exam completion required). Price includes access to the BSP online certification exam. Each session includes 60-90 minutes of webinar-based lecture and 60-90 minutes of small-group facilitated exercises. Different scheduling options are available – once session per week for ten weeks, one session per day for ten days, or two sessions per day for five days.

How to Get Certified

To earn BSP certification, all participants are required to attend all sessions of the program and pass the Balanced Scorecard Professional certification exam. The exam, administered online, has 40 questions (multiple choice or true/false pulled randomly from a larger pool of questions). There is a 75-minute time limit to complete the exam and results are posted immediately. A score of 75% is needed to pass.

What Is the Required Time Commitment?

A total expected number of hours is approximately 38. This includes:

• Pre-course reading / orientation requirements: 4 hours
• Live online sessions: 30 hours (3 hours per session for 10 sessions)
• Offline reading / study: 3 hours (minimal preparation between sessions and before the exam)
• Certification Exam: 1 hour

10 Sessions Per Program

Each program will include one 60-90-minute lecture webinar, plus a 60-90-minute small group exercise.

Session Lecture

For the first half of each session, an expert consultant will present content to the entire class. Much like BSI’s other educational webinars, this presentation will intersperse polling questions and other activities and will include a Q&A session at the end.

Session Small Group Exercise

For the second half of each session, delegates will be split into small groups of 4-5. The groups will be tasked with completing a small group exercise via web conference. All exercises will be facilitated by an expert consultant. Participants are required to engage via web camera and microphone.

Reading, Quizzes and Exam

Sessions will be complemented with reading assignments, quizzes (not graded), discussion board dialog, and small-group instructor feedback. Upon completion of the course, participants will be required to take and pass the online BSP Exam to become certified.

Technical Requirements

Live Online programs will be delivered using Zoom. Requirements to attend a Zoom session include:

• An internet connection – broadband wired or wireless (3G or 4G/LTE)
• Speakers and a microphone – built-in or USB plug-in or wireless Bluetooth
• A webcam or HD webcam – built-in or USB plug-in
• Or, a HD cam or HD camcorder with video capture card

Online BSI courses are minimally discounted compared to our live in-person courses. Just as many Universities have found, the cost related to offering a quality course online are just as high, if not higher, than offering a course in person. Direct interaction with experienced BSI consultants is integral to the quality of all our programs, live or online. Continuing Education Units

The certification gives participants the status of alumni of GW CEPL’s executive education programs, and an opportunity to obtain highly-coveted Continuing Education Units. Please note the additional fee of $900 for this level of certification to obtain 4 Continuing Education Units.  Participants selecting this option would count as alumni of George Washington University’s non-degree executive education programs, which is distinct from degree-bearing academic programs.
